Get More with Lesser!

Hi, I’m Tracy Lesser — public-school parent and certified public accountant (CPA) hoping to provide more accountability, more transparency, more fiscal responsibility and more honesty as a member of the WS/FCS Board of Education.

Why I am Running

Change is in order! This election’s biggest issue will be the continual fallout from the prior budget crisis and financial mismanagement. I share in the public’s frustration and criticism on how and why this financial crisis occurred and sympathize with all who were impacted by the budget cuts.

As a CPA for over 35 years, I have the skills and knowledge to make sure our school district is financially sound. My experience provides me with an understanding of budgets and how to make corrections simultaneously with budget cuts. Fiscal responsibility is critical for the future WS/FCS Board. It must be taken seriously along with the fiduciary responsibility given to each elected board member. Everyone on the Board should have opinions and thoughts that should be heard. Furthermore, full transparency of issues should be the standard.

Additionally, the disruption and anger created by the staff cuts and reassignments, compounded with the financial crisis, is contributing to low morale, teacher turnover, safety, and lower student enrollment issues. All these issues, and the unpopular redistricting plan, are facing the current and future elected WS/FCS Board.

If elected, I will analyze and assess each of these issues. I will work with my fellow Board members to formulate recommendations to make the WS/FCS school system a safer and more successful educational environment for administrators, educators, students and parents.
